Welcome to Gravel Pit Solar Expansion (the “Expansion”), a proposed 30-megawatt expansion to the Gravel Pit Solar energy project, a 120-megawatt (“MW”) project located in East Windsor, Connecticut. Upon completion, the Expansion will deliver affordable, renewable energy to customers in Connecticut – producing enough clean energy to power approximately 4,500 homes in central Connecticut and beyond, based on estimates calculated by the Environmental Protection Agency (the “EPA”).

Solar energy is an eco-friendly domestic power source that is inexhaustible and affordable. The Expansion will decrease CO2 emissions by an estimated 38,700 metric tons annually based on estimates from the EPA.
Our commitment to a sustainable future is reflected in our ongoing engagement with the East Windsor community throughout all stages of the project. The Expansion will not only contribute significantly to the town’s economy as a major taxpayer, but will also protect our environment and increase reliability of our electrical grid. Upon retirement, all materials will be removed, and the topsoil will have been preserved so the land can be restored and utilized by future generations.
